Take a Tour

We realize that for many people coming to a church for the first time can be a scary thing. We want to make it as easy and as non-threatening as possible for you. Here is some basic information about what you can expect on your first visit with us at Living Christ.

Living Christ has a large parking lot to the south behind the church off of Carriage Way Drive. You can enter the parking lot from Dundee Road or from Carriage Way Drive

The church has a main entrance through which you will
enter the lobby.  From the lobby you may easily access the
sanctuary or worship center.

Just to the right of the lobby is the worship center

Worship services are held in the sanctuary or worship center located on the main level at the east end of the building.

Living Christ is handicap accessible. The elevator located on the west end of the building will take you up to the youth room and the balcony where the organ and choir seating are, or to the lower level where the kitchen and fellowship hall are located.

Restrooms: The restrooms are located off the church lobby or downstairs in the lower level. Both restrooms on the main level and one restroom downstairs are handicap accessible. There is a baby changing table in the church nursery directly off the church lobby.

Worship services are held on Sundays at 9:00 AM  A nursery is available for infants through 3 years of age during the church service.

Bible Class and Sunday School: There are two Adult Bible Classes that are held on Sunday mornings 10:30 AM. One class is held in the fellowship hall on the main level of the church building and is taught by the pastor. The second Bible Class is held upstairs in an overflow area of the church lobby. Sunday school classes meet for an opening in the upper level of the church at 10:30 AM in the church nursery. Junior and Senior High classes meet upper level of the church.

Infant toddler classes (Together with Jesus) on Sunday

mornings at 10:30 AM in the church nursery.

The atmosphere in church is reverent but relaxed. You don't have to worry about making a mistake. People will be more than happy to help you if you have a question.
You will receive a worship folder and a Living Connections (weekly newsletter) as you enter the sanctuary (where the service is held). Children's bulletins and toddler bags (Wiggle Tamers) are available for small children. Greeters at the door will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
You can sit anywhere you wish and follow along in the worship folder to know what is going on in the service. The letters LW refer to the blue Lutheran Worship hymnal The Pastor or Worship Leader will give directions about sitting or standing at different times during the service.
If you are visiting for the first time you will receive a packet containing information about our church, Sunday School, and other activities. Please fill out one of the cards from the Record of Fellowship folder and put it in the offering plate. Do not feel obligated to give any money if you do not want to. Many church members give monthly rather than weekly, so no one will notice or care whether you give or not. If you do want to give something, there are envelopes in the seat rack in front of you.
Worship services on the first and third Sunday of the month include the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion). A statement about our communion practice is found in the worship folder. If you prefer not to commune, you may remain in your seat, no one will think it's odd.
If you have other questions, please feel free to ask anyone you see, or contact the church (847) 577-7133) before you come the first time
