Getting into the Word (Christian Education)

WEEE is an acronym that tells what we desire for our Living Christ community of faith to be and  do.  It stands for:

Worship:  Praising and Thanking God for who He is and what He is doing through Word and Sacrament.

Evangelizing – finding opportunities to share the good news in word and action with the unchurched

Encouraging – showing our love for one another by loving and caring for those  in our church and outside of it

Equipping – studying God’s Word so we will be better equipped to carry out God’s purpose for us.

Here at Living Christ Lutheran Church, we believe being in the Word is an important part of our growth as Christians. There are many opportunties for you to investigate how God speaks to us through the Bible.

John’s Letters                            Leader George S

1st John, 2nd John and 3rd John. When we strip away what is superficial, cultural or traditional, we reveal the essence of genuine Christianity which helps us focus our attention on what really matters- both now and for eternity.

We are Christ's Disciples            Leader Wayne R

Thru Bible studies, discussions, videos, prayers and fellowship, we will discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.  These small group studies should lead us to a life of discipleship in which we worship God and are equipped and encouraged to evangelize other disciples.

Prayer Shawl Ministry                 Leader Jean S

Women of all ages work on knitting and crocheting projects as a ministry to others.  Shawls can "wrap, comfort, enfold, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter, and beautify".  Each session begins with devotions and prayer.

A Disciple                                 Leaders Becky S, Scott & Kathy B, Pastor Paul

Monday Lunch Bunch, Sunday and Monday evening groups will be starting the fall season with the study of “A Disciple”, an 8-week series on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.  This study was written by an LCLC member Wayne Rehmer.

Finger Pickin                             Leader Joe L

This group gets together to practice guitars.  They learn from each other and share songs and techniques, showing the fun Christians can have with music.  Gatherings are for experienced and beginning finger pickers!

Topics of Interest to Young Women        Leader Barb M

Young women meet with Barb and choose Biblical topics based on current interests, i.e.: handling anger, forgiveness, fellowship, creation.

For Ewe and Your Flock             Leader Art H

This is a five part study by Jeffery Warner showing how Jesus is the Good Shepherd.  As sheep in His flock, believers in Christ receive forgiveness of sin, eternal life, and the comfort and joy of life with God.  Jesus, our Good Shepherd, cares for us and is always with us.  He protects us and keeps watch over us.  He knows us and leads us.  What a Good Shepherd we have!

Fearless                                    Leader Patty W

This is a Max Lucado video series.  Imagine living your life without fear.   The video series will lead you through the process of living a fearless life.

Together with Jesus                   Leader Julie K

Julie leads the parents of infants and toddlers in how to bring Jesus into their lives.  It gives parents a time to share their feelings and ideas as they raise their children.

Together with Jesus brings together parents with their young children, birth to age 3, to come closer to Jesus and each other.  This class empowers parents with activities, ideas, and information for supporting spiritual nurture of their young children.  Basic Bible stories are modeled, explored, and presented in developmentally appropriate ways for babies, infants, and toddlers. Activities within this program, which takes place on Sundays between 10:30 – 11:30 AM during the Family Education hour, include experiences with sensory play, music, puppets, dramatic play, and art
