The Season of Lent 2010
The Sign of Jonah

Something is fishy?  Why are we talking about Jonah during Lent?   It is most fitting. The Jews asked for a sign from Jesus.  “I will give you only the sign of Jonah”   Jesus was speaking about his death and resurrection and comparing it with Jonah’s plight in the belly of a big fish.

This Lenten series explores the meaning of “The Sign of Jonah” as we follow Jonah on his journey…and Jesus on His way to the cross.

1st week of Lent (Feb. 24):  Saved in the Storm (Jonah 1:4-16)
2ndweek of Lent (Mar. 3):  Our Providing God (Jonah 1:17)
3rd week of Lent (March 10):  Praying in the belly of the great fish (Jonah 2:1-10)
4th week of Lent (March 17):  The God of the second chance (Jonah 3:1-4)
                                              (Apple of His Eye—Seder?)
5th week of Lent (March 24): About face (Jonah 3:5-10)
